Question 1

What's included when you rent the Europlug to C7 power cable?

Accepted Answer

One 1.5-metre black power cable with a 2-pin Europlug (Type C) on the mains end and an IEC C7 figure-8 coupler on the device end. The device you want to power is not included, so bring or rent it separately.

Question 2

What is a C7 or figure-8 connector?

Accepted Answer

C7 is the IEC 60320 name for the small 2-pin coupler shaped like a figure-8 (also called infinity or shotgun). It plugs into the matching C8 figure-8 inlet found on many small electronics. It carries mains power only.

Question 3

What devices use a figure-8 power cable?

Accepted Answer

Double-insulated small electronics such as laptop power bricks, slim TVs, game consoles, satellite receivers, radios, portable players and small printers. These devices have a C8 figure-8 inlet on the back.

Question 4

Is this cable earthed?

Accepted Answer

No. It is a 2-wire ungrounded lead with no earth pin, so it is only for double-insulated devices that are designed to run without an earth connection. Do not use it with equipment that needs a grounded 3-pin supply.

Question 5

What is the current limit?

Accepted Answer

It is rated up to 250V and 2.5A, which suits low-draw consumer electronics. It is not for high-draw loads such as heaters, motors or kettle-class appliances.

Question 6

What is a Europlug or Type C plug?

Accepted Answer

The Europlug (CEE 7/16, Type C) is a slim 2-pin ungrounded plug used across much of Europe. It fits Type C, E and F sockets. The plug end of this cable is a Europlug, so it needs a compatible socket or adapter.

Question 7

How do I know if my device has a figure-8 inlet?

Accepted Answer

Look at the power inlet on your device. If it is a small 2-hole socket shaped like a figure-8 or infinity symbol (a C8 inlet), this C7 cable fits. If the inlet has three holes or a different shape, this lead is not the match.

Question 8

What plug and socket do I need for it?

Accepted Answer

The mains end is a 2-pin Europlug (Type C), so you need a Type C, E or F wall socket, or a suitable plug adapter, and the device must have a C8 figure-8 inlet on the other end.

Question 9

When will this cable be available to rent?

Accepted Answer

It is available soon and not yet in our rental fleet. Tell us on WhatsApp that you need it and we will prioritise it and update you the moment it is rentable.

Question 10

Do you deliver across Sri Lanka?

Accepted Answer

Yes. When it joins the fleet, cables can be combined with other rentals and delivered together. Colombo and suburbs get delivery, with next-day or scheduled options island-wide.

Question 11

What deposit and ID do I need?

Accepted Answer

A small refundable security deposit and a valid ID are required at handover. Sri Lankan customers use a National Identity Card and foreign customers use a passport.

Question 12

What is the Europlug (Type C) to C7 Figure-8 Power Cable (1.5m)?

Accepted Answer

The Europlug (Type C) to C7 figure-8 power cable is a 1.5-metre 2-core mains lead with a 2-pin CEE 7/16 Europlug (Type C) on the mains end and an IEC 60320 C7 (figure-8) coupler on the device end. It is 2-wire ungrounded, rated up to 250V / 2.5A, typically 0.75mm2 H03VV-F flex, and connects double-insulated small electronics with a C8 figure-8 inlet (laptop power bricks, TVs, consoles, radios, printers) to a Europlug or Type C outlet. It is available soon to rent from Rentitem.lk in Sri Lanka, with a refundable deposit and Colombo delivery.

Question 13
