Rent the Dell 24-inch Full HD touch monitor (P2418HT), a 23.8-inch IPS touchscreen for kiosks, sign-in desks, point-of-sale stations and presentations. Connect a PC or laptop and you are ready to go.

This is a Dell P2418HT, a 23.8-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS computer monitor with a 10-point projected capacitive touchscreen.

It runs at a 60Hz refresh rate and tracks up to ten fingers at once, so tap, swipe, pinch and zoom all feel natural. Because it is a monitor and not a tablet or a TV, it has no operating system of its own.

You drive it from a source device such as a PC or laptop, which is not included in the rental.

Connectivity is broad for a touch panel.

It takes HDMI, DisplayPort and VGA video inputs, so it works with both modern laptops and older office PCs, and it has a USB 3.0 upstream port plus downstream USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 hub ports.

You plug the video cable in for the picture and the USB touch cable into the same computer so the touch works. A 3.5 mm line-out is on hand for external speakers, since there are no built-in speakers.

The real trick is the articulating stand: it tilts from -5 to 60 degrees, so the panel stands upright like a normal monitor or folds down almost flat for tabletop touch, signing and sketching.

It runs on AC mains, so it needs a power outlet at the stand or desk.
