Question 1

Are the lighting fixtures included with this service?

Accepted Answer

No. This is an operator-only service. Moving heads, wash and spot lights, LED fixtures, DMX consoles, truss and cabling must be arranged separately if they are not already part of your order. Ask our team to add lighting hire to your booking if needed.

Question 2

What does the lighting operator actually do on the day?

Accepted Answer

The operator patches and addresses the fixtures, programs the DMX console, builds scenes and cues, runs the lighting live during the show following the cue sheet, and troubleshoots common DMX, power and fixture issues on site.

Question 3

What DMX consoles can the operator work with?

Accepted Answer

Our operators are experienced with industry-standard consoles including GrandMA, Avolites, Chamsys and other professional DMX controllers. Confirm your exact console and fixture list at booking so we can match the right operator.

Question 4

Can the operator design the lighting for my event?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our senior operators can provide pre-event lighting design based on your venue, event type and desired atmosphere. Share your plan early so the design and programming time can be arranged.

Question 5

How many hours does a booking cover and what about overtime?

Accepted Answer

Rates are Rs.20,000 for up to 5 hours (half-day), Rs.30,000 for up to 10 hours (day), and Rs.40,000 for up to 18 hours (full-day). Time beyond the booked band is treated as overtime and should be agreed with our team in advance.

Question 6

How much notice do I need to book?

Accepted Answer

Early enquiry is recommended, especially during peak event seasons in Sri Lanka when availability is limited. Reserve as far ahead as possible to secure the operator for your date.

Question 7

What languages can the operator communicate in?

Accepted Answer

Sinhala and English.

Question 8

Do travel charges apply?

Accepted Answer

Travel for locations outside the standard arrangement should be confirmed before booking. Let our team know the venue so travel can be quoted where it applies.

Question 9

Do I need to provide meals for long events?

Accepted Answer

For long event days, meals and refreshments for the operator should be arranged by the client. Confirm this with our team for full-day or extended bookings.

Question 10

What does the client need to provide?

Accepted Answer

The client should provide the lighting fixtures, DMX console and truss (unless arranged through us separately), safe site access and power, and a clear point of contact or cue sheet for the show.

Question 11

How do I book or ask a question?

Accepted Answer

Book through the Rentitem.lk booking panel or contact us on WhatsApp at +94777186500.

Question 12

What is the Professional Lighting Operator?

Accepted Answer

A Professional Lighting Operator can be hired through Rentitem.lk in Sri Lanka. This is an operator-only service, not the lighting fixtures themselves, so moving heads, wash/spot lights, DMX consoles and truss are arranged separately if they are not already in the order. The operator programs the DMX console, patches fixtures and runs the lighting live during the event. Languages: Sinhala and English. Rates: Rs.20,000 for up to 5 hours (half-day), Rs.30,000 for up to 10 hours (day), Rs.40,000 for up to 18 hours (full-day). Customers can book through the booking panel or WhatsApp +94777186500.
