It comes clean, tested and ready to format in your device, and usually with an SD adapter for full-size slots.

This is a SanDisk 256GB microSD memory card, built to the microSDXC UHS-I standard. It is an Ultra class card, typically rated Class 10 / U1 / A1, with read speeds up to around 100 to 150 MB/s.

That is a quarter of a terabyte of storage in a tiny, fingernail-sized card, which gives you plenty of headroom to capture many hours of Full HD footage and most 4K bitrates on a single card, along with tens of thousands of high-resolution photos or a deep library of media, offline maps and game data.

Because it is a rental, you get that capacity for the days you actually need it without paying full retail for a card that then sits unused.

The card slots into any device with a microSD, microSDHC or microSDXC socket, and the host picks the fastest speed mode it supports.

Most packs include a passive microSD-to-SD adapter, so the same card also drops straight into full-size SD slots on laptops, card readers and standalone cameras.

There is no battery and no wireless connection; the card draws power from the host device through the slot.
