A Lexar 512GB 2.5-inch SATA III solid-state drive you can rent to upgrade a slow computer or add fast storage. It reads at up to 550MB/s, so boot, load and file-copy times drop straight away.
It is the drive only, ready to install in a machine or a SATA enclosure.
This is a Lexar 512GB internal solid-state drive in the standard 2.5-inch form factor, built on the SATA III 6Gb/s interface.
Despite the older "hard disk" wording in some listings, it is a flash-based SSD with no moving parts, not a spinning mechanical hard drive.
That means it runs silent and cool, tolerates knocks better, and delivers sequential read speeds of up to 550MB/s, which is several times faster than a typical 2.5-inch mechanical disk of the same size.
The drive uses a slim 7mm z-height metal casing that fits most laptop drive bays and desktop 2.5-inch mounts without spacers, and it connects through the usual SATA data and power connectors.
Because it is an internal drive rather than a USB stick, you either fit it inside a computer's 2.5-inch bay or slot it into a SATA-to-USB enclosure or docking station to use it as a portable drive.
The 512GB capacity holds an operating system plus a large working set of files, and the unit is rated at 256 TBW endurance with a 1500G shock tolerance.
Rent it to breathe new life into an older laptop, add quick storage to a desktop, or keep a fast working drive on hand for a short project, without buying a drive you only need for a while.
