The BOYA BY-M1000 is a large-diaphragm, side-address studio condenser microphone built for clean, detailed voice and instrument capture.
Inside its all-metal body sits a 34mm gold-sputtered diaphragm that gives vocals and voiceover a warm, professional character across the full 20Hz to 20kHz audio range.
Three switchable polar patterns, cardioid, omnidirectional and bidirectional, let you point the mic at a single voice, open it up to a whole room, or set it between two people for an interview.
A low-cut filter and a -10dB pad on the body help you tame desk rumble and record louder singers or instruments without distortion.
This is an XLR studio microphone, not a plug-and-play USB mic, so it needs a little setup.
It uses a balanced 3-pin XLR output and has no internal battery, which means you must connect it to an audio interface, mixer or preamp that supplies 24V or 48V phantom power, and that device then connects to your computer or recorder.
The rental includes the microphone, shock mount, pop filter and an XLR cable, so you are ready to mount it on a stand or boom arm and start recording once you have an interface.
It is a fixed-position desk and stand mic for indoor studio work, not a handheld stage mic or a camera mic.
