The Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN II Art is the do-everything zoom for full-frame mirrorless shooters. Hire it in Colombo for weddings, events, portraits and video, with a constant f/2.8 aperture right across the range.
Our unit is Sony E-mount, so confirm your camera mount before you book.
This is Sigma's second-generation 24-70mm f/2.8 Art zoom, purpose-built for full-frame mirrorless cameras.
The DG DN badge means it is designed from the ground up for mirrorless bodies, and it comes in both Sony E-mount and L-mount.
The unit we rent is the Sony E-mount version, and Sigma also makes an L-mount version, so please confirm your camera mount before you book.
It is a standard zoom, which means it covers the everyday range from a 24mm wide angle to a 70mm short telephoto in one lens.
The aperture stays fixed at f/2.8 no matter where you zoom, so exposure and depth of field stay consistent and you gather plenty of light in dim venues.
Optically it runs 19 elements in 15 groups with FLD, SLD and aspherical glass, an 11-blade rounded diaphragm for smooth, blurred backgrounds, and a fast, quiet HLA linear autofocus motor.
There is no optical stabilisation in the lens, so it leans on your camera's in-body stabilisation. It takes 82mm filters, weighs around 735 grams and is weather-sealed for real-world shoots.
Compared with the first-generation lens it is a little smaller and lighter, and it adds a handy aperture ring for video.
That combination makes it a genuine workhorse for photographers and videographers who want one reliable lens that can handle most of a job without swaps.
