The Sony BC-QZ1 charger refills one NP-FZ100 battery at a time on mains power, so a Sony a7 III, a7 IV or a9 stays ready between takes. It is tested before every rental, so it just works on the day.
This is Sony's own BC-QZ1 charger, built for the NP-FZ100 battery that powers most current Sony Alpha mirrorless cameras.
It is a compact desktop unit with a single charging slot, a detachable AC power cord and a front LED that shows charging progress and full-charge status at a glance.
The battery clicks into the slot on positive contacts, and the charger runs the pack from empty to full in about 150 minutes on mains power.
It accepts a wide 100 to 240 V AC input at 50 to 60 Hz, so it works on Sri Lankan power and on supplies worldwide without a step-down transformer.
The NP-FZ100 is the standard pack for Sony Alpha bodies such as the a7 III, a7 IV, a7R III, a7R IV, a9, a9 II and a6600, which is exactly what this charger is made for.
It handles the genuine NP-FZ100 form factor and does not accept W-series or older Sony batteries.
Because it is a charger and not a battery, power bank or in-camera USB charger, it needs a wall socket to work, though it will run happily from an inverter or UPS on location.
It is a clean way to keep your Sony packs topped up without buying a spare charger you would only use for one job.
