A single JBL SRX715 15-inch two-way passive PA speaker for hire, used as a front-of-house top for live music, weddings and events. It needs an external power amplifier and speaker cable to run.

The JBL SRX715 is a single 15-inch two-way passive PA loudspeaker from JBL Professional's SRX700 series, built as a main front-of-house top for live sound.

It pairs a 15-inch Differential Drive woofer with a 3-inch neodymium high-frequency compression driver on a 75 by 50 degree aluminium horn, housed in a lightweight trapezoidal birch-plywood cabinet.

The system handles 800W continuous, 1600W program and 3200W peak, reaches up to 131 dB peak SPL, and covers a frequency range of 43 Hz to 20 kHz, so a single top delivers clean, high-output music and speech across a wide audience area when driven properly.

The key thing to understand is that the SRX715 is passive, which means it has no amplifier built into the cabinet. It cannot make sound on its own.

To run it you connect an external power amplifier to the Speakon input on the back panel through a speaker cable, and the amplifier does the driving.

A recessed high-current switch on the input plate lets you run the speaker full-range passive from one amp channel, or bi-amped if your rig is set up that way.

Because the amp and cable are separate, you rent them alongside the speaker if you do not already have a matching amplifier rated for its 8 ohm, 800W load.

The cabinet has a 35mm pole socket with a selectable 0 or -10 degree tilt for stand or sub-pole mounting, recessed handles for carrying, and M10 fly points for rigging.
