Deep, controlled 18-inch bass under your PA
The JBL PRX418S is a JBL PRX400-series 18-inch passive subwoofer that adds punchy low-end under full-range PA tops at weddings, DJ sets, live shows and events. It needs an external power amplifier to run.
This is a JBL PRX418S, an 18-inch passive subwoofer from JBL Professional's PRX400 series.
A single large 18-inch driver sits in a front-loaded, vented cabinet and moves a lot of air to produce the deep bass that PA tops on their own cannot reach.
It carries the low frequencies of your music and sound so kick drums, bass lines and the general weight of a DJ or live mix land with real impact.
Because it is a passive cabinet, there is no amplifier, DSP or mains power inside the sub itself.
Being passive means the sub is driven by a separate power amplifier over a Speakon speaker cable, not plugged straight into a mixer.
The rear panel carries two parallel-wired Neutrik Speakon combo jacks, one used as the input and one as a thru, so you can daisy-chain a second sub or feed your tops from the same amp channel.
It handles 800W continuous and up to 3200W peak at 8 ohms nominal, reaching down to 52Hz, and a built-in pole socket on top lets you drop a speaker pole in and mount a satellite top above the sub.
To run it you supply or rent a matching power amp, a Speakon cable and a set of PA tops, and we can rent all of those alongside it so you leave with a complete system.
