Rent the JBL STX828S, a professional dual 18-inch passive subwoofer that delivers deep, body-felt low end for large weddings, festivals, DJ stages and concerts.

It is a passive cabinet, so it runs from an external power amplifier that we can supply with it.

The JBL STX828S is a professional dual 18-inch passive subwoofer, often called a double 18 bass bin.

It packs two JBL 18-inch Super Vented Gap Cooled woofers into a front-loaded, bass-reflex enclosure that is rated at 2000W continuous, 4000W program and 8000W peak.

It reaches down to around 37 Hz with a 138 dB peak SPL and 99 dB sensitivity, which is the kind of deep, chest-thumping bass you feel at big outdoor events.

The rugged enclosure is DuraFlex coated birch and poplar plywood behind a 14-gauge steel grille, built to survive repeated load-in, transport and long event days.

Being a passive subwoofer, the STX828S has no amplifier of its own. It needs an external power amplifier to drive it, and it connects to that amp with Neutrik Speakon NL4 speaker cables.

That amp and the Speakon cables are not part of the subwoofer itself, so if you do not already have them we can add a matched amplifier and cabling to your rental.

For a full sound system you also pair it with full-range top speakers, since this cabinet handles only the deep bass and leaves the vocals, mids and highs to the tops.

Each cabinet is heavy at around 82 kg and over a metre wide, so plan for two people, a trolley and a suitable vehicle.
