A passive, mono converter that turns a 6.3mm (1/4 inch) mono plug into a 3-pin XLR male, so a keyboard, mixer output or amp line out can reach an XLR line input on a mixer or PA. Tested before every rental.

If you are connecting an instrument such as a guitar or bass, or running a long unbalanced cable into the desk, a DI box is the better tool because it balances the signal and drops the level; this converter is for the simple case where you just need to change the plug format on a line-level source over a short run.
