The BOYA BY-EA2L is a compact USB sound card that gives a laptop or PC a proper 3.5mm microphone input and a 3.5mm headphone output, with no drivers to install.
This is the BOYA BY-EA2L, a compact branded USB 2.0 external sound card.
One end is a USB Type-A male plug that goes into your computer, and the other end, on a short lead of about 15cm, splits into two 3.5mm TRS female sockets: one microphone input and one headphone output.
It is USB bus-powered, drawing all the power it needs from the USB port, and it is plug-and-play on Windows and Mac, so there are no drivers, no app and no external power supply to worry about.
You plug it in, select it as the audio device in your sound settings, and it is ready to use.
Its job is simple and useful: it adds a good 3.5mm mic and monitor headphones to a laptop or PC that has a weak built-in mic jack, a single combined port, or no usable audio ports at all.
Because the mic input and the headphone output are separate jacks, you can record voice and listen back through headphones at the same time.
That makes it popular with content creators who want to plug a 3.5mm lavalier or clip-on mic and monitor headphones into a laptop for streaming, webinars, video calls and podcast recording.
It is a consumer-grade sound card with a single mic input and a single headphone output.
It has no XLR inputs and no phantom power, so it is a handy bridge for 3.5mm gear rather than a replacement for a full audio interface.
Add a mic and headphone jack to any laptop over USB
