RCA to XLR Female Audio Converter

Feed an RCA output into an XLR input

A passive in-line adapter with an RCA (phono) male plug on one end and a 3-pin XLR female socket on the other. It lets a device with an RCA line-out feed audio into gear that only takes XLR, with no power to plug in.

This is a compact, passive audio converter that joins an RCA (phono) male connector to an XLR female connector.

It is a one-piece barrel-style adapter with no cable length and no external power, so there is nothing to charge or switch on.

It carries a single channel of line-level audio and passes it straight through, letting an unbalanced RCA source connect to an input that only accepts XLR.

The RCA male end plugs into an RCA output on a mixer, DJ controller, CD deck, media player or laptop audio interface.

The XLR female end connects onto an XLR male cable that runs to a powered speaker, a mixer line or channel input, or a stage box.

Because it is passive, the signal path works in either direction electrically, but it does not turn an unbalanced signal into a true balanced one and it does not change the audio level.

It is a plain wiring adapter, not a DI box or a transformer. That makes it the right choice when your source has RCA outputs and the venue or speaker only has XLR, and you simply need the two ends to meet cleanly.

It is small enough to keep in a gig bag, and because it has no cable of its own, you pair it with an XLR lead of whatever length the room or stage needs.
