A passive RCA male to XLR male audio adapter that lets an RCA line source feed an XLR female input on a mixer, stage box or powered speaker. Audio only, tested before every rental.
This is a single passive audio adapter with an RCA (phono) male connector on one end and a 3-pin male XLR connector on the other.
It carries an unbalanced RCA line-level audio signal and presents it on an XLR male plug, so a source that only offers an RCA output can connect to gear that only offers an XLR female input.
Typical destinations are a mixer channel, a stage box, a snake return or the XLR input on a powered speaker.
It is audio only and passive, so there is nothing to power, charge or switch on, and there are no controls to set.
The XLR end is deliberately male because it is made to go into an XLR female socket, which is the input side on almost all professional audio gear.
That is the key difference from the RCA male to XLR female adapter, which does the opposite job and feeds an RCA input instead.
Note that this is a wiring adapter, not a transformer or a DI box, so it does not truly convert the unbalanced RCA signal into a balanced one.
The run stays electrically unbalanced end to end, which is fine for short cable lengths but is worth keeping in mind in noisy, high-interference rooms.
It handles one channel at line level, so for a stereo feed you would rent two units, one for the left channel and one for the right.
