A passive, single-channel adapter that turns one RCA (phono) male plug into a male XLR plug, so an RCA line source can reach an XLR line input on a mixer or PA. No power, nothing to set up.
This is a small passive converter with an RCA (phono) male connector on one side and a 3-pin male XLR connector on the other.
It lets a line-level RCA output, such as a DJ mixer output, a CD or media player, or a sound-card output, plug straight into an XLR line input on a mixer or PA.
It carries one mono channel and the signal flows from the RCA source into the XLR input. Because it is passive there is no transformer, no gain, and no power to worry about.
The RCA feed is unbalanced, so it works best over short runs. When you need to send a long line over a noisy stage, a powered DI box is the better tool.
This adapter is for the quick, short patch that gets a consumer or line output onto a professional XLR input without hunting for the right cable on the day.
