A passive 6.35mm (1/4 inch) to XLR female audio adapter that lets a 1/4 inch mono output plug straight into XLR gear or a male-XLR cable. No power, no setup, just plug and go.
This is a passive audio adapter that joins a 6.35mm (1/4 inch) TS mono male jack to an XLR 3-pin female socket.
One end is a standard 6.35mm quarter-inch tip-sleeve jack plug; the other is a three-pin female XLR socket that accepts a male-XLR cable.
It carries audio only, and because it is passive it needs no power, batteries or drivers. You simply plug it in and it works, so there is nothing to set up on the day of an event or a rehearsal.
Its job is to adapt a 6.35mm mono output onto XLR-style gear.
That means you can take a 1/4 inch mono, instrument or line-level output and feed it into a device that expects XLR, or join it to a male-XLR cable running on to your XLR input.
Because the 6.35mm side is TS, the signal it carries is mono and unbalanced, so this is a wiring adapter rather than a true balanced converter or a DI box.
It does not change the level of the signal, it does not balance it, and it does not add phantom power.
Keep it to line-level and instrument-level audio, treat it as a connector change and nothing more, and it gives you a quick, reliable way to bridge two connector standards on a busy event floor.
