The TP-Link TL-MR100 is a 4G LTE Wi-Fi router that turns a mobile SIM card into a shared internet connection.
It has a built-in Cat4 LTE modem, so you insert a data SIM, the router connects to the mobile network, and everyone nearby gets online over Wi-Fi or a network cable.
There is nothing to install and no computer or driver setup needed before it works.
This makes it a simple, affordable way to bring internet to a place that has no fixed line, such as an event, a temporary office, or a site where fibre and ADSL are not available.
On the wireless side it broadcasts a 2.4 GHz Wireless N network at up to 300 Mbps and can serve up to 32 connected devices at once, which is enough for a small crew with laptops, phones, tablets, and point-of-sale terminals.
Cellular download runs at up to 150 Mbps on a Cat4 connection, subject to the coverage where you set it up.
Two detachable external LTE antennas help the router pull in a usable signal in halls, basements, and fringe-coverage venues.
The rear panel carries one LAN port and one LAN or WAN port, so you can plug in a wired device or fall back to a venue's wired internet when one is available.
