A UGREEN combo dongle that plugs into a single USB 3.0 port and adds three more USB ports along with a 3.5mm headphone output and microphone input, all on one small unit.
This is a UGREEN 30420, a single combo dongle that does two jobs at once.
It plugs into one free USB 3.0 Type-A port on your laptop or desktop and gives you three extra USB 3.0 Type-A ports, running at up to 5 Gbps, alongside a 3.5mm headphone output and a 3.5mm microphone input.
So it expands your USB ports and adds an external sound card in the same small unit. The lead is short, about 0.3 metres, which keeps the housing sitting neatly on the desk beside the machine.
It is bus-powered and plug-and-play, so Windows, macOS and Linux all recognise it with no driver install.
The audio side runs as a standard USB Audio Class device, which is handy when a laptop has no 3.5mm jack, or the built-in jack is broken or already in use.
You can route wired headphones or a headset and a 3.5mm microphone into a presentation laptop for calls, webinars and basic recording, while the three USB ports carry a clicker, a flash drive and a capture device at the same time.
Two things to keep in mind: it is not a powered hub, so it shares power from the host port and is best kept off several high-draw drives at once, and the audio is consumer-grade stereo out and mic in, with no XLR socket or phantom power.
