An AC1200 dual-band outdoor wireless access point that extends your existing internet into gardens, event grounds, car parks and other open-air spaces.
IP65 weatherproof, powered over a single network cable, and managed through TP-Link Omada.
The EAP225-Outdoor is an outdoor wireless access point from TP-Link's Omada business networking line, and it does one job well: it takes an internet connection you already have and pushes strong, stable Wi-Fi into an open-air space that your indoor router cannot reach.
It is an AC1200 dual-band unit, which means it broadcasts on both the 2.4 GHz band (up to 300 Mbps) and the 5 GHz band (up to 867 Mbps) at the same time, using 802.11ac Wave 2 with MU-MIMO so several phones, laptops and cameras stay connected together.
A single run of network cable carries both data and power to the unit, so it can sit far from any wall socket.
What makes it an outdoor access point rather than an indoor one is the build. The enclosure is IP65-rated and weatherproof, so it is made to be mounted on a wall or a pole and left exposed to sun, dust and rain.
Two detachable omni-directional antennas spread coverage widely across the area around it.
It is powered over Ethernet through the included injector, supporting both 802.3af PoE and 24V passive PoE, and it can be run on its own or adopted into an Omada controller so several access points share the same settings and roaming.
Because it is a network device, it needs to be cabled to your router or switch and set up before it will broadcast, and it extends your internet rather than supplying it.
