A 100-metre Cat 6 Ethernet cable with RJ-45 plugs on both ends.
It carries wired internet or LAN data at up to 1 Gbps from a router or switch right across a whole venue to a far corner, a distant stage, a laptop, camera or switch.
This is the longest run in our Cat 6 family, at the standard Ethernet distance limit. Tested before every rental, so it just works on the day.
A 100-metre network cable built to the Cat 6 standard (U/UTP, unshielded twisted pair), with standard RJ-45 male connectors on both ends.
It carries wired Ethernet at up to 1 Gbps (250 MHz), which is the speed and bandwidth Cat 6 is rated for at this length. 100 metres is the standard maximum for a single Ethernet run, and Cat 6 is rated exactly to it, so this is the longest reach in the family.
A single unbroken length spans a whole venue: from a router or switch at one end of a large hall, ballroom or exhibition floor out to the other side, a far building corner, a distant stage or a room across the site, with no coupler or splice in the middle.
Inside, four twisted pairs of 23 AWG solid bare copper are twisted at a defined pitch to hold a clean signal over the long run, built to the TIA/EIA-568.2-D and ISO/IEC 11801 standards.
Plug it into any RJ-45 Ethernet port: routers, switches, wireless access points, laptops, desktops, IP cameras, POS terminals or networked printers, and it is backward compatible with CAT 5 and CAT 5e gear.
Because it is a long, pre-terminated run, it is faster to lay down than crimping cable on site, and a wired link stays far more stable than Wi-Fi across a big or crowded venue.
Paired with an HDMI-over-Cat or AV-over-Cat extender (sender and receiver, which we rent separately) the same cable can carry HDMI or AV over the full Cat run to a distant display.
On its own it is a data cable, not an HDMI cable. Over the full 100 metres it delivers 1 Gbps, not 10 Gbps, and it is an indoor, unshielded cable that is not weatherproof.
