An HDMI extender pair that carries Full HD 1080p video and sound from a source to a far-off projector, TV or monitor over a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable, up to 30 metres.
It reaches much further than a normal HDMI cable and is tested before every rental.
A generic HDMI-over-Ethernet extender kit built to the HDMI 1.3 standard. It is a pair of units: a transmitter at the source end and a receiver at the display end.
A plain HDMI cable can only run a short distance before the signal fades, so instead of one long HDMI lead, this pair sends the signal down a standard Cat5e or Cat6 network cable with RJ-45 ends.
You plug your HDMI source into the transmitter, run a network cable to the receiver, and plug the receiver into the display.
It handles Full HD 1080p with up to 2.25 Gbps of bandwidth and carries audio inside the HDMI signal, so no separate audio run is needed.
It is the practical way to feed a projector or screen that sits well across a hall from the laptop or media player driving it.
The network cable is usually supplied separately so you can match your exact run length, and both units are powered by the included adapters. The link is one-way, from source to display.
