A 75-metre Cat 6 Ethernet cable with RJ-45 plugs on both ends.

It carries wired internet or LAN data at up to 1 Gbps from a router or switch across a large hall, marquee or between two floors to a laptop, camera, switch or access point.

A 75-metre network cable built to the Cat 6 standard, with standard RJ-45 male connectors (8P8C) on both ends.

It carries wired Ethernet at up to 1 Gbps (250 MHz), which is the Gigabit speed Cat 6 delivers at this distance.

Cat 6 is rated for runs up to 100 metres, so at 75 metres a single length reaches from a router or network switch across a big venue, ballroom, exhibition marquee or between two floors of an office to wherever you need a connection, without a repeater.

One thing to plan for: Cat 6 only reaches 10-Gigabit speeds to about 55 metres, so at 75 metres this is a 1 Gbps run and not a 10G run.

Plug it into any RJ-45 Ethernet port: routers, switches, wireless access points, laptops, desktops, IP cameras, POS terminals or networked printers.

The cable uses tightly twisted copper pairs (22-26 AWG) in a PVC jacket and is backward compatible with older Cat 5 and Cat 5e equipment, so it drops straight in as a longer replacement for a shorter or lower-grade cable.

Because it is a long, pre-terminated run, it is faster to lay down than crimping cable on site, and a wired link stays far more stable than Wi-Fi when a lot of people are on the network or the distance is too great for reliable wireless.

Paired with an HDMI-over-Cat or AV-over-Cat extender (sender and receiver, which we rent separately) the same cable can also carry HDMI or AV over the Cat run to a distant display.

On its own it is a data cable, not an HDMI cable. It is an indoor, unshielded (UTP) cable and is not weatherproof.
