A wired multi-WAN load balance router that links up to four broadband lines together for higher total bandwidth and automatic failover. Ideal for shops, small offices and event venues that cannot afford to drop offline.
The TP-Link TL-R470T+ is a wired multi-WAN load balance broadband router, built for small offices, retail shops and event venues that need more internet than a single line can give.
It has five 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports: one fixed WAN, one fixed LAN and three ports you can switch between WAN and LAN, so you can plug in up to four separate broadband lines at once.
The router then combines those lines into one connection, sharing traffic across them for higher total bandwidth and steadier performance when many people are online together.
Its two headline jobs are load balancing and failover.
Load balancing spreads user sessions across every connected line, so a room full of guests, staff or devices draws on the combined capacity of all your lines rather than crowding onto one.
Failover watches each WAN line and, if one drops, moves traffic to a healthy line automatically, keeping card payments, live streams and cloud calls running through the outage.
Inside a compact 158 x 101 x 25 mm desktop chassis it holds up to 10,000 concurrent sessions on 16MB of flash and 128MB of RAM, supports PPPoE, dynamic IP, static IP and PPTP lines, and is set up through a simple browser interface.
It is a wired router with no built-in Wi-Fi, so add an access point when you need wireless.
