The dbx 234XL is a professional audio crossover for hire in Colombo.
It takes one full-range signal and splits it into separate frequency bands, then routes each band to the right power amplifier so your subwoofers, mid drivers and high drivers each get only the range they should play.
The dbx 234XL is a signal processor, not a speaker and not an amplifier. It is the piece that sits between your mixer and your power amplifiers in a live PA or DJ rack.
You can configure it as a stereo 2-way or 3-way crossover, or as a mono 4-way crossover, to match how your system is built.
Every input and output is on balanced XLR, it covers a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz (+/-0.5 dB), and it is a mains-powered, rack-mountable unit weighing about 1.8 kg.
Because it does the band splitting for you, each amplifier and speaker only handles the frequencies it is designed for, which keeps a multi-way system clean and controlled.
In simple terms, it decides which sounds go where: the deep bass to the subwoofer amplifier, the mids to the mid amplifier, and the highs to the top amplifier, all from one full-range input.
That is why it is a standard part of a serious PA or DJ rack rather than something you hear on its own.
