BOYA BY-HP2 Professional Monitor Headphones

Studio monitor headphones for accurate sound on any rig

The BOYA BY-HP2 is a wired closed-back over-ear studio monitor headphone for recording, mixing, monitoring and DJ cueing.

It plugs into a mixer, interface, camera or recorder over a 3-metre detachable cable, ready to work on the day.

The BOYA BY-HP2 is a professional over-ear closed-back monitor headphone built for accurate sound reproduction in studio, broadcast and field-monitoring work.

BOYA is a well known name in the audio accessories space, serving content creators, videographers, podcasters and live sound engineers.

This pair uses 40mm dynamic drivers with a rated frequency response of 20Hz to 40kHz, 98dB sensitivity and 60 ohm impedance, with a maximum input power of 300mW per the manufacturer.

The circumaural ear cups sit fully over the ear and provide passive isolation from surrounding noise, which helps you hear the real detail of a mix or a take instead of the room.

Connectivity is handled through a 3-metre detachable cable that ends in a 3.5mm TRS plug, with a screw-on 6.35mm (1/4 inch) stereo adapter included.

That lets you connect directly to mixing consoles, audio interfaces, DJ controllers, camera headphone outputs, field recorders and standard headphone amplifiers, as well as to a phone or laptop.

The closed-back design keeps sound from bleeding out, which suits tracking and booth monitoring where you do not want the headphone signal spilling into a microphone.

Because the drivers sit at 60 ohm, a mixer output, interface or headphone amp drives them to a fuller level than a low-power phone would.

Renting the BY-HP2 gives a photographer, DJ, podcaster or sound engineer a reliable, tested monitoring headphone for a shoot, a set or a session without buying one for a single job.
