The Sony NEX-FS700 is a large-sensor professional camcorder with a Super 35 image sensor of around 11 megapixels, the same sensor class used in many cinema cameras.
It records Full HD internally at up to 60p and captures super slow-motion in high-speed bursts up to 960fps, which is what made this body a firm favourite for slow-motion reels, sports replays and product hero shots.
The Super 35 sensor delivers a shallow, filmic depth of field that separates your subject from the background and gives footage a genuine cinematic feel rather than a flat handycam look.
Instead of a fixed lens, the FS700 uses a native Sony E-mount, so you choose the glass to match the shoot.
It takes native Sony E-mount lenses directly and, with the right adapter, a wide range of PL, EF and legacy cinema and photo lenses.
Professional connections include dual XLR audio inputs with phantom power, HDMI Type A and 3G HD-SDI out for feeding external recorders, monitors and live switchers.
