The BOYA BY-PVM3000L is a professional long shotgun condenser microphone for hire in Colombo, built to capture clean, on-axis dialogue on film sets, boom poles and event shoots while rejecting crowd and room noise.
The BOYA BY-PVM3000L is a professional modular shotgun condenser microphone, and the "L" is the long variant, with a 35.6 cm (14 inch) interference tube that gives the tightest, most directional pickup in the PVM3000 range.
Its supercardioid, lobar pattern focuses on a narrow lobe of about 30 degrees straight ahead, so it hears the person you point it at and turns down the sides and the rear.
That off-axis rejection is what keeps a voice clean when the room is busy, whether that is a wedding ballroom, a documentary location, an outdoor interview or a stage.
It runs a wide 60 Hz to 20 kHz response with an 80 dB signal-to-noise ratio and a switchable 150 Hz low-cut filter to tame rumble, wind and handling noise, all in a light 242 g aluminium body that sits easily on a boom pole or on top of a camera.
This is a proper production microphone, so it connects and powers like one.
The output is a balanced 3-pin XLR, and the mic needs 48V phantom power (24V also works) from a field recorder, mixer or camera with an XLR input, or a single 1.5V AA battery when your gear cannot supply phantom power.
It does not plug straight into a 3.5 mm camera jack or a phone, and an XLR cable and a phantom-power recorder are not part of the box by default.
Tell us what you are shooting on and we will add the right XLR cable, adapter, boom pole, stand or recorder from our fleet so you have a complete, working dialogue kit on the day.
It is a boom and on-set microphone, not a handheld vocal mic.
