It is a true 4K cable: it carries native 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) at 60 frames per second, not the 4K at 30Hz that older HDMI 1.4 cables are limited to.
With up to 18 Gbps of bandwidth it moves uncompressed 4K video plus multi-channel audio down a single shielded, gold-plated lead, so you do not need a separate audio cable on the day.
Alongside 4K it also handles Full HD 1080p, HDR passthrough for richer colour and contrast, and Audio Return Channel (ARC) so a connected TV can send sound back to a soundbar or receiver over the same lead.
