This is a Libec video camera tripod stand, a purpose-built support for video cameras, camcorders, and DSLR or mirrorless bodies.

What sets it apart from a plain photo stand is the fluid-style pan and tilt head, which is designed to glide through smooth, controlled horizontal pans and vertical tilts instead of the jerky, stepped motion you get from a basic head.

A pan handle gives you fine control over the move, and a built-in bubble spirit level lets you set a true horizon on uneven floors and stage surfaces.

Libec (Heiwa Seiki Kogyo) is a Japanese maker known for professional and prosumer video tripods used in broadcast and content work.

The stand runs on telescopic aluminium-alloy legs with quick flip locks and a mid-level spreader for stable, repeatable footing, plus a raiseable centre column for extra reach.

On top sits a quick-release plate with a standard 1/4 inch camera screw, so your camera clicks on and off the head in seconds and swaps quickly between operators.

Rubberised feet grip indoor floors, and the whole rig is manual, with no cables or power to worry about. It suits most video cameras, camcorders, and small mirrorless or DSLR rigs.
