It carries uncompressed Full HD 1080p video at up to 60 frames per second, up to 3 Gbps of bandwidth, with embedded audio on the same cable, and it works in either direction.
SDI is a professional broadcast standard, and it is not the same as HDMI. It uses a secure locking BNC connector and is built for long, dependable signal runs, which is exactly where a 50-metre reel earns its place.
Its main advantage over HDMI is that it holds a clean signal over a long distance with a connector that will not fall out.
