It pairs dual X-Balanced woofers with dual front-firing tweeters, driven by an amplifier of around 55W (estimated), and Sony's MEGA BASS pushes deep low end so the sound fills a room or a garden.
Multi-colour ambient lights wrap the cabinet and pulse in time with the music, which turns a plain room into a party space.
It is a genuinely versatile rig. Two 6.3mm inputs take microphones for karaoke, and the second input switches to guitar mode so a performer can plug in and play a short live set.
Music reaches it three ways: over Bluetooth from a phone, tablet or laptop, from a USB thumb drive, or through the 3.5mm aux input.
A built-in rechargeable battery lets you run it outdoors with no mains power, and its IPX4 splash-resistant build shrugs off light rain and poolside spray.
