The TX VX 4800 is a 4-channel rack-mount power amplifier from the TX Professional Audio VX series, built for stage, club and live sound reinforcement.
A power amplifier is the box that takes the small line-level signal from your mixer and boosts it to the high-power signal that passive speakers need to make sound.
Because it has four independent channels in one 19-inch rack chassis, one VX 4800 can feed several speakers at once, which is why sound crews use it as the core of a portable or installed PA rig.
You connect a source, usually a mixing console or DJ controller, to the amplifier's XLR or jack inputs, then run speaker cable from its Speakon outputs to your passive speaker cabinets.
Each channel has its own gain control so you can balance tops, monitors and subs.
The four channels can run as four separate outputs, or adjacent pairs can be bridged to make two higher-power outputs for demanding subwoofers.
It runs on standard 230V Sri Lankan mains, uses forced-fan cooling for long event runtimes, and carries short-circuit, DC and thermal protection.
Remember that it drives passive speakers only: you supply the speakers, speaker cable and a source, plus mains power and a rack or amp case.
