A 2-metre analog VGA cable in a clean white jacket, with HD15 male plugs on both ends. It carries Full HD 1080p video from a laptop or PC to a projector or monitor with a legacy VGA port.
It is tested before every rental, so it just works on the day.
This is a general-purpose 2-metre VGA cable terminated with standard 15-pin HD15 male connectors on both ends.
VGA (Video Graphics Array) is a long-serving analog video standard for connecting computers, laptops and media players to monitors and projectors.
The cable carries analog RGB video plus the sync and DDC pins that let a display be detected automatically, and both connector hoods include the familiar thumbscrews so the plug can be locked into the port to stop it pulling loose during a live presentation.
It is shielded to help reject interference from nearby power and audio gear.
The 2-metre length is the everyday, go-to size: long enough to reach from a podium or desk laptop to a nearby projector or monitor, and short enough to stay tidy on a meeting-room table.
It comfortably carries resolutions up to Full HD 1080p, along with common PC resolutions such as 1024x768, 1280x1024 and 1600x1200.
VGA is analog and video-only, so it does not carry audio, power or data, and it is not a digital link.
When a venue projector or display only exposes an older VGA input rather than HDMI, this is the cable that gets the picture across.
For a longer reach we rent a 10 metre VGA cable, and for a shorter tidy run a 1.5 metre version.
