A balanced XLR audio cable, 5 metres long, with a 3-pin XLR male plug on one end and a 3-pin XLR female socket on the other.
It carries balanced analog audio to run a mic to a mixer or feed a powered speaker, tested before every rental so it works on the day.
A balanced XLR audio cable, five metres long, with a 3-pin XLR male plug on one end and a 3-pin XLR female socket on the other.
It carries balanced analog audio, which is the standard way to move microphone and line-level sound around a stage or studio with the least possible noise.
Rent it to extend a vocal mic to the mixer, to feed a powered speaker from a console, or to patch any XLR source to an XLR input. It is fully passive, so there is nothing to power, charge or set up.
You plug both ends in and the audio flows. This is the everyday go-to XLR length: long enough to cross a small stage or reach across a meeting room, short enough to coil and carry without becoming a tangle.
The 3-pin layout carries the signal on hot, cold and ground lines, and that balanced path is what lets the cable reject hum and interference picked up from lighting rigs, dimmers and nearby power leads over the full five-metre run.
The cable is shielded to keep that noise out, and the female end latches onto the male pins so it will not pull free if someone steps on the lead or tugs it during a set.
At five metres it sits in the middle of the range: the three-metre cable is tidier for a close mic-to-mixer hop, while the ten and twenty-metre cables are made for wider stages and front-of-house runs.
If five metres is the reach you need for the everyday patch, this is the one to rent. It handles analog audio only and it is not a speaker cable, so keep it on the microphone and line-level side of the setup.
