This is a 1 in 8 out HDMI splitter: one HDMI input and eight HDMI outputs.
You feed it one HDMI source, such as a laptop, media player or camera, and it duplicates that exact signal to all eight outputs so every connected screen shows the identical image and audio.
It is a splitter, not a switch. A switch chooses between several sources for one screen, while this splitter does the reverse, sending one source out to many screens.
It cannot send different content to different displays or act as a matrix switcher.
It is a powered unit and works only with its included DC power adapter plugged into a mains outlet, which keeps the signal strong and stable across all eight ports.
It follows the HDMI 1.4 standard, with 10.2 Gbps of bandwidth, and outputs up to 4K at 30Hz or 1080p at 60Hz across every port.
