Carry a 1080p SDI feed over long fibre, far beyond coax
The AVMATRIX 3G-SDI Fibre Optic Extender System is a transmitter and receiver pair that sends a Full HD 1080p 3G-SDI video signal over a long single-mode optical fibre link.
It lets you place your camera or switcher hundreds of metres from your production position and still deliver a clean, uncompressed picture with its audio riding along, which is exactly what copper coax cannot do over long distances.
This is a powered, broadcast-grade extender system for professional SDI video.
The transmitter takes an SDI signal in over a BNC female connector, converts it onto optical fibre, and the receiver converts it back to SDI at the far end.
The fibre side uses LC simplex single-mode fibre connectors, and both units need mains power to run.
It handles a 3G-SDI signal at Full HD 1080p and carries embedded audio, so your sound travels with the picture on the same link.
The receiver provides 2 SDI output ports, so a single fibre run can feed two downstream destinations at the same time, such as a switcher and a recorder.
It is built for SDI (BNC) gear at both ends and is not an HDMI device.
