It is worth being clear about what the cable does and does not do. Because the 1/4 inch end is TS, tip and sleeve, it is an unbalanced, mono connection, so the cable does not create a truly balanced signal on its own.
That is fine for line and instrument level sources and dynamic microphone paths over this 5-metre length, and it keeps a small, low-cost lead in your kit.
It does not carry 48V phantom power to condenser microphones, and it is not a substitute for a fully balanced XLR to XLR cable on very long, noisy runs.
