One 50-metre fiber cable for 8K across a whole hall

A 50-metre HDMI 2.1 active optical (fiber) cable that carries 8K or 4K120 video and audio from your source to a distant screen with no signal loss, the run copper HDMI cannot survive.

This is a 50-metre HDMI 2.1 active optical cable, often called an AOC or fiber HDMI cable, with full-size HDMI Type-A male plugs on both ends.

Instead of copper, it sends the picture and sound down a thin fibre core, which is how it holds the full signal over 50 metres.

On typical estimated specs for this type it carries up to 48 Gbps of HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, which covers 8K at 60Hz and 4K at 120Hz with HDR, and it draws the small amount of power it needs straight from the HDMI source, so there is no separate power brick to plug in.

Because it is active optical, the cable is directional: one end is marked Source and plugs into your laptop, media server or switcher, and the other is marked Display and plugs into the projector, LED wall or big screen.

Connected the wrong way round it will not pass a picture, so the labels matter.

It is a single fixed 50-metre length, so it is not joined to a second cable, and being fibre it must not be sharply bent, kinked or crushed while you route and coil it.

In a Sri Lankan rental context this is the mid-length choice for a big hall, hotel ballroom, wedding venue or main stage where the source desk sits well back from the screen.

For a smaller room the 30-metre version is enough, and for a very long run the 100-metre version reaches further.
