The Insta360 X3 is a pocket 360 action camera that captures a full spherical shot in 5.7K, so you point it once and reframe any angle afterwards in the app.
Waterproof to 10 metres, with a bright touchscreen and a single-lens 4K wide mode for normal action footage.
This is the Insta360 X3, a 360-degree action camera that records the whole scene around it at once.
It uses two wide lenses to capture 5.7K spherical 360 video and 72-megapixel 360 photos, and it can also switch to a single-lens 4K wide mode when you want a flat, forward-facing action shot instead of full 360.
A large touchscreen on the back lets you frame, change modes, and review clips right on the camera, and electronic stabilisation keeps the footage smooth while you move.
The clever part comes after you shoot.
Because the X3 records everything around it, you decide where to look later: open the free Insta360 app or Insta360 Studio, then pan, tilt, and zoom to pull a normal flat video out of the 360 capture.
That means you can follow the invisible-selfie-stick effect for drone-like third-person shots, reframe a single take into several angles, and never miss the action because you were pointing the wrong way.
It is waterproof to 10 metres without a case, weighs only 180 grams, and records to a microSD card.
It rents at Rs 3,000 per day with a refundable deposit and same-day Colombo delivery, which makes it an easy way to try 360 for one shoot without buying a camera you use once.
