A powered RCA to HDMI converter that takes composite AV from an old device and outputs HDMI, upscaled for a modern TV or projector. It runs one way, RCA in to HDMI out.
This is a small powered converter that lets older equipment show its picture and sound on a modern screen.
It takes a composite AV signal in through three RCA plugs, the familiar yellow, red and white leads, where yellow carries the video and red and white carry left and right stereo audio.
That signal comes from an old source device such as a VCR, a retro game console, an older camcorder or a set-top box.
The converter then outputs a single HDMI feed that plugs straight into a modern TV, monitor or projector.
Because most new screens no longer have RCA sockets, this converter is the bridge that brings that old gear back to life.
Inside, it upscales the standard-definition composite signal to a cleaner HDMI resolution, usually 720p or 1080p, so it fills a modern display properly instead of showing a tiny or unsupported picture.
It carries both the video and the stereo audio on the one HDMI output, so you do not need a separate sound lead. The unit runs on USB power, so you connect the supplied USB lead to a charger or a USB port on the TV.
It works in one direction only, RCA in to HDMI out, which keeps it simple to set up and use.
