A wireless HDMI kit that streams video and audio from a source to a display over the air, so you skip running a long HDMI cable across a hall or through a wall.
This is a two-piece wireless HDMI kit: a transmitter and a receiver.
Plug the transmitter into your HDMI source (a laptop, PC, set-top box or media player) and plug the receiver into your screen (a TV, monitor or projector).
The two units are factory-paired and send the picture and sound between them over a dual-band 2.4GHz / 5GHz wireless link, with no Wi-Fi network, app, driver or password to set up.
It carries 4K at 30Hz, and 1080p at higher refresh rates, over a range of up to 50 metres (about 165 feet) in clear line of sight.
Because it is wireless, there is a small amount of latency, so it is a great fit for presentations, signage, video playback and camera feeds, but not for fast-motion 4K gaming.
The receiver also gives you a VGA output and a 3.5mm audio jack alongside HDMI, so it can drive an older VGA projector and feed sound to a mixer.
Both the transmitter and the receiver need power, and the transmitter is powered over USB-C. Thick walls, floors and crowded Wi-Fi will shorten the effective range, so plan for a clear path between the two ends.
