This is the UGREEN CM498 (model 15600), a 9-in-1 USB-C multi-port adapter in a slim gray aluminium alloy housing, about 174 g and roughly 11 x 19.5 x 2.3 cm.
It plugs into one USB-C port on your host device and expands it into nine functions: a 4K HDMI output, a VGA output, a Gigabit RJ45 Ethernet port, three USB 3.0 Type-A ports at up to 5 Gbps, an SD card slot and a TF (microSD) slot, and a 100W USB-C Power Delivery pass-through port.
The hub is bus-powered from the host USB-C port, so there is no separate power brick to carry.
The 100W PD port lets you plug the laptop's own USB-C charger into the dock and keep the laptop charged while the other ports are in use.
It is a hub, not a stand-alone device, so it always works connected to a USB-C host.
