Godox ML-150 II Macro Ring Flash (GN12)

Shadow-free light that wraps right around your lens

A ring-shaped macro flash that mounts on the front of your lens, so close-up subjects like jewellery, dental work and small products are lit evenly with almost no harsh shadow.

This is the Godox ML-150 II, a manual macro ring flash for hire in Sri Lanka.

Instead of sitting on top of the camera like a normal flash, the ring-shaped flash head screws onto the front of your lens using one of eight included adapter rings.

Because the light comes from a circle right around the lens, it falls on close subjects from every side at once, which is what removes the harsh shadows you get from a single flash and gives clean, even coverage on small detailed subjects.

It has a Guide Number of 12 at ISO 100 and a daylight-balanced colour temperature of 5800K, plus or minus 200K, so colours in your close-ups look natural.

The flash comes in two parts that work together. A controller slides into the camera hot shoe and holds four AA batteries, and the ring head clips onto the front of the lens.

You set the power by hand across 11 levels, from 1/32 up to full 1/1, and you can even drive the two halves of the ring independently to add a little shape to the subject.

Recycle time is up to two seconds at full power, and flash duration runs from 1/200 to 1/5000 of a second.

It uses a standard center-pin hot shoe, so it fits most Canon, Nikon, Sony, Pentax and Olympus DSLR and mirrorless cameras, and the eight screw-in adapter rings cover the most common lens filter threads from 49 to 77mm.
