A professional 8-input 3G-SDI live production switcher that cuts between up to eight SDI cameras, records every input as a separate ISO file and streams the program live over Ethernet.
Built for larger professional multi-camera SDI productions.
The Blackmagic Design ATEM SDI Extreme ISO is a professional 8-input live production switcher built around 3G-SDI, the connection standard used by broadcast and professional cameras.
It takes 8 x 3G-SDI inputs, each with its own re-sync and format converter, so cameras and playback devices running slightly different frame rates or formats can be mixed together without external converters.
It sends the finished program out over its SDI outputs and two HDMI outputs, and it streams live to the internet over Ethernet using the built-in RTMP engine, so no separate encoder computer is needed.
What sets this model apart is ISO recording. It records 9 separate H.264 files at once, one for each of the 8 inputs plus the program mix, so every camera is captured cleanly for editing after the event.
The single configurable multiview output shows 16, 13, 10, 7 or 4 sources on one monitor, so the operator watches every camera at a glance.
On top of switching it carries 4 chroma keyers, 2 DVEs, 2 media players for graphics and lower thirds, and a Fairlight 11-input audio mixer with compressor, gate, limiter and EQ.
This is a larger SDI-based tool for serious multi-camera productions, not a compact HDMI mixer.
