The Hikvision DS-U18 is a 4K USB web camera with an 8MP sensor and a built-in microphone. Plug it into a laptop or desktop, clip it to the screen and you are ready for sharp video calls, live streams and online classes.

The Hikvision DS-U18 is a 4K Ultra High Definition USB web camera built around an 8-megapixel CMOS sensor.

It captures sharp 4K video at up to 30 frames per second through a 3.6mm fixed lens with a wide 79-degree horizontal field of view, which is enough to frame one or two people comfortably at a normal desk distance.

A microphone is built into the body, so it picks up your voice on the same device and you do not need a separate mic for a call or a recording.

The camera clips onto the top edge of a laptop screen or a monitor, and the clip tilts so you can line up your shot, or sits on a desk when you prefer.

It connects to a computer over a single USB cable and is plug-and-play using the standard UVC camera class, so it works on Windows, Linux and Android without installing drivers for the common meeting and streaming apps.

Bus power comes down the same cable, so there is no separate adapter to carry.

Because it appears as an ordinary USB camera and microphone, Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, OBS and similar tools can select it directly.

For full 4K at 30 frames per second, plug it into a USB 3.0 port on a reasonably capable computer; on a slower machine it still runs well at lower resolutions.
