A Wingell portable 4G MiFi hotspot: a pocket-sized mobile Wi-Fi that takes a data SIM and shares one 4G LTE connection with up to 10 devices, anywhere you have USB power.
The Wingell portable 4G MiFi is a pocket-sized mobile Wi-Fi device that carries your own internet with you.
You insert a standard data SIM from a Sri Lankan mobile operator, and the unit turns the 4G LTE signal into a small wireless network that your laptop, phones, tablets and cameras can join.
It broadcasts on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi using the 802.11 b/g/n standard, and it shares that single mobile connection with up to 10 devices at the same time, so a small team or a family can all get online from one hotspot.
It is a 4G LTE Cat4 device rated for speeds of up to 150Mbps download and 50Mbps upload, with real-world speed depending on your data plan and the operator coverage where you use it.
The unit is powered over USB, so you plug it into a power bank, laptop, wall adapter or a vehicle USB port, which is exactly what makes it easy to move around.
It also has a microSD slot for up to 32GB of shared storage and two TS9 sockets for external antennas to help reception in weak-signal spots.
Because a data SIM is not included, you bring your own SIM and data plan to suit the trip or the event.
